Applications and Capacity

Utility projects begin by establishing the building’s existing services and future requirements. We coordinate capacity enquiries and applications using the proposed electricity, water, gas and data demand.

Early applications help identify network limitations, reinforcement works, new substations, larger pipes, meter requirements and provider lead times before they delay construction.

Utility Civils

Our associated civils service includes service detection, trial holes, trenches, ducts, chambers, building entries, backfilling and final surface reinstatement.

Power, water, gas, data and drainage routes are coordinated to reduce clashes and repeated excavation. Existing buried services are located and protected as far as reasonably practicable before groundworks begin.

Connections, Diversions and Disconnections

We coordinate new connections, service upgrades, meter installations, utility diversions and redundant-service disconnections.

Certain network, isolation and connection activities can only be completed by the relevant asset owner or an appropriately accredited specialist. KD Maintenance manages the interfaces between these organisations and the wider construction project.

Temporary services and planned shutdowns can also be arranged to help occupied properties remain operational during changeovers.
